In accordance with the long-term development plan of the University of Lampung, to build a faculty of basic sciences that can support the university as a center for the development of science, on May 6, 1986, the Rector's Decree Number 34/KPTS/R/1986 concerning the establishment of the Preparatory Committee for the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (PFMIPA) of the University of Lampung was issued.
