Dr. Nurjoko Officially Receives Doctoral Degree in Mathematics and Natural Sciences through Artificial Intelligence Research for Stunting Risk Mapping in Lampung Province
Bandar Lampung, 9 June 2026 – The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) of the University of Lampung has once again produced quality doctoral graduates through the implementation of the Doctoral Promotion Session for the MIPA Doctoral Study Program this year 2026 which took place in the FMIPA Dean's Meeting Room, Lampung University, Floor III, Tuesday (09/06/2026).
On this occasion, Dr. Dr. Eng. Heri Satria, S.Si., M.Si, as Dean of FMIPA, University of Lampung who acted as Chair of the Session. Also attending the activity wasDr. Khoirin Nisa, S.Si., M.Si.as Head of the MIPA Doctoral Study Program (S3) who oversees the academic process up to the doctoral promotion stage.
Research conducted by Dr. Nurjoko focuses on the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology to support the analysis of public health indicators in Lampung Province, especially in mapping and detecting regional-based stunting risks. This research is motivated by the importance of efforts to prevent stunting as one of the national priority programs in improving the quality of Indonesia's human resources. Through the use of artificial intelligence technology, it is hoped that this research will be able to produce a model that can help the government and policy makers identify high-risk areas so that interventions can be carried out in a more targeted and effective manner.
In the process of preparing his dissertation, Dr. Nurjoko received guidance from the promoter team consisting ofProf. Drs. Admi Syarif, Ph.D.as Promoter,Dr. Dr. Khairun Nisa Berawi, M.Kes., AIFO as Co-Promoter I, and Favorisen Rosyking Lumbanraja, S.Kom., M.Sc., Ph.D. as Co-Promoter II. The three of them provided direction and scientific assistance during the research process until completion of the dissertation.
Meanwhile, the team of examiners who provided academic evaluation of the dissertation consisted ofDr. rer. Nat. Akmal Junaidi, M.Sc. as Internal Examiner I, Tristiyanto, M.I.S., Ph.D. as Internal Examiner II, and Julian Supardi, M.T., Ph.D. as External Examiner. Various questions, input, and constructive scientific discussions were submitted by the examiners to test the depth of analysis, research methodology, data validity, and scientific contributions resulting from the research.
The trial took place solemnly and full of academic enthusiasm. Dr. Nurjoko explained the results of his research comprehensively in front of the examining team and the guests present. After going through a presentation, question and answer session, and in-depth evaluation, the examining team stated that the dissertation submitted had met the academic standards of the Mathematics and Natural Sciences Doctoral Program and was worthy of being defended.
This activity was also attended by special invited guests, namely the leadership of the Darmajaya Institute of Informatics and Business, including the Chancellor and elements of institutional leadership, the Darmajaya extended family, the FMIPA University of Lampung academic community, colleagues, friends, and the extended family of Dr. Nurjoko who provided support and appreciation for the academic achievements achieved.
Dr. Nurjoko's doctoral degree is clear evidence of FMIPA Lampung University's commitment to producing superior human resources who are able to contribute to solving the nation's strategic problems through science and technology-based research. It is hoped that the results of research that integrates artificial intelligence with public health data can become a reference for the development of decision support systems in an effort to accelerate the reduction of stunting rates, especially in Lampung Province.
