Unila FMIPA Chemistry Masters Study Program Holds Public Lecture Series #1 Discussing the Development of Electrochemical Materials and Electrocatalysis

The Master’s Program in Chemistry, Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Lampung organized the General Lecture Series #1 as part of its efforts to strengthen the academic atmosphere, enhance scientific insight, and expand research networks in the field of modern chemistry. This event carried the theme “Development of Electrochemical and Electrocatalytic Materials and Their Applications” and was held in a hybrid format on Wednesday, October 29, 2025.

The offline session took place at the 3rd Floor Dean’s Office Building of FMIPA Unila, while online participants joined through the Zoom Meeting platform. In his opening remarks, Mulyono, S.Si., M.Si., Ph.D., stated that “General lectures such as this serve as an important platform for strengthening academic culture, expanding scientific networks, and broadening students’ perspectives on the latest developments in research and innovation, particularly in the field of chemistry.”

The event was officially opened by Mulyono, S.Si., M.Si., Ph.D., and was attended by Mita Rilyanti, Prof. Dr., M.Si., Dian Herasari, Dr., M.Si., Ilim, Prof. Dr., M.S., along with lecturers and students from the Department of Chemistry, FMIPA Unila.

The general lecture featured speakers from the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), namely Sun Theo Constan Lotebulo Ndruru, Ph.D., and Dicky Annas, Ph.D. The session was moderated by Endah Pratiwi, Dr., M.Si.

During the presentation session, the speakers explained various recent innovations and research findings related to the synthesis, characterization, and applications of electrochemical and electrocatalytic materials. Participants also gained insight into opportunities for collaborative research development and the implementation of catalysis-based technologies to support the advancement of science and technology in Indonesia.

This general lecture aimed to broaden the understanding of students, lecturers, and public participants regarding the latest developments in electrochemistry and electrocatalysis, particularly in the development of functional materials with broad potential applications in energy technology, environmental science, and the modern chemical industry. The event received enthusiastic participation from students, lecturers, researchers, and participants from various educational institutions. The interactive discussions throughout the session reflected the participants’ strong interest in applied chemistry research and modern materials technology.

Through this event, the Master’s Program in Chemistry, FMIPA Universitas Lampung hopes to continue providing inspiring scientific forums, strengthening academic and research culture, and enhancing the competence of the academic community in responding to the increasingly dynamic developments in science and technology.
