DOCTORAL PROMOTION ASSEMBLY FOR MIPA AND MIPA DOCTORAL STUDY PROGRAM, FMIPA UNIVERSITY OF LAMPUNG, 2026
The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) at Lampung University has once again recorded academic achievements through holding the Doctoral Promotion Session for the MIPA Doctoral Study Program (S3) in 2026. This activity is one of the highest academic stages that must be taken by doctoral program students as a form of scientific accountability for research results. which has been carried out during the study period.
The doctoral promotion session is not only a momentum for assessing the quality of the dissertation research produced, but also becomes a forum for the development of knowledge that contributes to the progress of science, health and social welfare. Through this academic forum, promovendus have the opportunity to present comprehensive research results in front of the promoter team and examiners.
In 2026, the FMIPA FMIPA Doctoral Study Program at Lampung University will hold a Doctoral Promotion Session on behalf ofDr. Dr. Exsa Hadibrata, Sp.U.who successfully defended his dissertation entitled:
“Black Pepper (Piper nigrum L.) Extract on the Improvement of Alloxan-Induced Hyperglycemic Male Rat Reproductive Dysfunction: Behavioral, Hormonal, Testicular Histology and Oxide Synthase Gene Expression Studies.”
The research examines the potential of black pepper (Piper nigrum L.) extract as a natural ingredient that can provides a therapeutic effect on reproductive function disorders in conditions of hyperglycemia. The research was carried out through a multidisciplinary approach which included observation of reproductive behavior, hormonal analysis, testicular histology studies, and evaluation of gene expression related to reproductive function. It is hoped that the results of this research can make a scientific contribution to the development of biomedical science, especially in the use of natural ingredients as alternative therapy for reproductive disorders caused by diabetes.
The doctoral promotion session took place solemnly and scientifically, chaired by Mulyono, S.Si., M.Si., Ph.D., as Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs and Cooperation of FMIPA University of Lampung who acted as Chair of the Session. This activity was also attended by faculty leaders, lecturers, students, promovendus families, as well as invited guests.

During the trial, promovendus presented the research results systematically and comprehensively. The examining team provides various questions, input, criticism and suggestions aimed at strengthening the scientific substance of the research and improving the quality of the dissertation. The academic discussion was dynamic and showed the depth of promovendus' mastery of the material in the field of research he was pursuing.
This doctoral promotion session was also attended by a number of special invited guests who provided support and appreciation for promovendus' academic achievements. Present at the activity were Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Lampung along with Deputy Dean for Student and Alumni Affairs, Faculty of Medicine, University of Lampung. Apart from that, there were also lecturers, educational staff, professional colleagues, the promovendus extended family, alumni, and other specially invited guests who also witnessed the academic procession.
The presence of the invited guests was a form of support for improving the quality of human resources and developing a superior academic culture within the University of Lampung.
Based on the assessment results of the promoter team and examiners, promovendusDr. Dr. Exsa Hadibrata, Sp.U.was declared successful in defending her dissertation and was entitled to hold the title Doctor in the Mathematics and Natural Sciences Doctoral Study Program, FMIPA, University of Lampung.
Unila's Mathematics and Natural Sciences Faculty awarded and donated doctoral degrees to the Republic of Indonesia This success is a proud achievement as well as proof of dedication, hard work and commitment in developing science through research that is innovative and beneficial to society. This achievement also strengthens the role FMIPA Lampung University as a higher education institution which is committed to producing quality, competent, doctoral graduates who are able to make a real contribution to the development of science, technology and health.
