Dr. Dr. Putu Ristyaning Ayu S., M.Kes., Sp.PK., Subsp. H.K(K) Receives FMIPA Doctoral Degree, University of Lampung

The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) University of Lampung has once again recorded an academic achievement through holding the 2026 Doctoral Promotion Session for the 2026 Mathematics and Natural Sciences Doctoral Program. The 33 MIPA doctoral students have been graduated and carried out with solemnity and pride. On this occasion, Dr. Dr. Putu Ristyaning Ayu S., M.Kes., Sp.PK., Subsp. H.K(K) officially successfully defended his dissertation and was entitled to hold the title of Doctor after going through a series of rigorous academic examinations in front of a team of examiners.

The dissertation presented at the doctoral promotion session was entitled:

“Diagnostic Performance of Single Nucleotide Polymorphism (SNP) rs9399137 and rs72872548 with Expression Phosphatydylserine on Red Blood Cells (PS-Exposed RBCs) as a Predictor Model for Severity in Beta-Thalassemia.”

This research is a very important scientific contribution to the development of science, especially in the fields of biomedicine and health. Through in-depth studies, this research seeks to identify genetic and cellular biomarkers that can be used as a predictor model for the severity of beta-thalassemia disease, so that it is hoped that it will be able to support more appropriate clinical decision making and improve the quality of health services for patients.

The doctoral promotion session was chaired directly byDr. Eng. Heri Satriaas Chair of the Session and Dean of FMIPA, University of Lampung. In an enthusiastic academic atmosphere, promovendus presented the results of his research comprehensively and answered various questions, input and responses from the examiners very well.

This activity was also attended by a number of special invited guests who provided support and appreciation for the academic achievements achieved. Present on this occasion was the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Lampung and the leadership, including the Deputy Dean for Student Affairs and Alumni of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Lampung. The presence of these faculty leaders is a form of synergy and collaboration between faculties in supporting the development of higher education, research and innovation within the University of Lampung.

Apart from that, the doctoral promotion session was also attended by lecturers, researchers, students, colleagues, families and other special guests who also provided moral support and appreciation for the promovendus academic journey. An atmosphere of emotion and pride seemed to surround the entire series of events when the results of the trial determined that promovendus had passed and was entitled to obtain a Doctorate degree in the Mathematics and Natural Sciences Doctoral Program at the University of Lampung.

In his speech, the Chair of the Session expressed his appreciation for the dedication, hard work and scientific contributions that promovendus had shown during his doctoral education. He hopes that the research results that have been produced can provide real benefits for the development of science, the world of health, and become a reference for further research.

The success of Dr. Dr. Putu Ristyaning Ayu S., M.Kes., Sp.PK., Subsp. H.K(K) in achieving a Doctoral degree is a matter of pride for FMIPA University of Lampung as well as increasing the number of superior human resources who are able to contribute to the development of science, technology and health at national and international levels.
