FMIPA Lampung University Strengthens Nuclear Research Network through Collaboration with BRIN and Tsinghua University
Jakarta – Faculty of Mathematics and Science
Lampung University (Unila) Natural Sciences (FMIPA) continues to strengthen its role
in developing national research and innovation through active participation inFocus
Group Discussion (FGD) "Strengthening the Academic Collaboration and
Research Network in Nuclear Technology" organized by Organization
Nuclear Energy Research (ORTN) National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN)works
same asInstitute of Nuclear and New Energy Technology (INET), Tsinghua
University, China.
On
In this activity, FMIPA Lampung University was represented by the Dean of FMIPA (Dr.
Eng. Heri Satria, S.Si., M.Sc.), Deputy Dean for Student Affairs and
Alumni (Dr. Junaidi, S.Sc., M.Sc.), and Head of the Masters Study Program
Physics FMIPA Unila (Dr. Yanti Yulianti, S.Si., M.Si.) who was present as the Team
Lampung University FMIPA Nuclear. The presence of this team is a form
FMIPA Unila's commitment to expanding strategic cooperation networks in the field
education, research and development of nuclear technology with research institutions
national and international partners.
Development
Current nuclear energy science and technology has gone wrong
a strategic sector that supports national development. Utilization
Nuclear technology is now not only focused on energy generation, but
It has also been applied in various fields such as health, agriculture,
industry, environment, food safety, advanced materials, instrumentation, to
development of artificial intelligence-based technology.
These conditions encourage universities to continue to increase capacity
human resources, strengthening research, and building more collaboration
broad.
As
institutions that have a mandate in carrying out research, development,
actively reviewing and implementing nuclear technology in Indonesia, ORTN BRIN
expanding cooperation networks with various universities. Through forums
Currently, BRIN together with INET Tsinghua University are introducing various opportunities
academic and research collaboration, including China–Indonesia development
Belt and Road Joint Laboratory on High Temperature Gas-cooled Reactor (HTGR)
as part of strengthening Indonesia-China cooperation in the field of technology
nuclear.
FGD
presenting the leadership of ORTN BRIN, representatives of INET Tsinghua University, as well
delegates from various universities in Indonesia. Apart from discussing
the latest developments in nuclear technology, this forum is also a place for discussion
regarding collaborative research opportunities, joint laboratory development (joint
laboratory), joint scientific publication (joint publication),
joint supervision (joint supervision), lecturer exchange and
students, as well as human resource development in the field of nuclear technology.
In
In this forum, the Lampung University FMIPA Nuclear Team introduced the potential
FMIPA's academic and research work, especially in the field of physics
materials, instrumentation, nanotechnology, computing, energy, and characterization
material. These competencies are considered to be closely related to
various research needs for modern nuclear technology, especially in development
functional materials, sensors, scientific instrumentation, and technological applications
radiation.
Other than
Expanding academic networks, FMIPA Unila's participation is also aimed at
obtain information about various research funding opportunities,
utilization of national standard laboratory facilities owned by BRIN,
programs to increase the competency of lecturers and students, as well as opportunities for further study
and joint research with international partners.

One important moment in this activity is the signing of the cooperation document
which is a symbol of BRIN and INET Tsinghua University's commitment to strengthening
academic collaboration and nuclear technology research. This cooperation is expected
can open wider opportunities for Indonesian higher education,
including the University of Lampung, to be involved in various research programs
international.
Share
FMIPA Lampung University, participation in this activity is a step
strategic to support improving the quality of education and research
while strengthening the achievement of the university's Main Performance Indicators (IKU)
high, especially in the aspects of cooperation, international publications, improvement
human resource capacity, as well as downstream research results.
To
In the future, FMIPA Lampung University is committed to following up on the results of the FGD through
preparation of sustainable cooperation programs with ORTN BRIN and INET
Tsinghua University. This form of collaboration includes research
collaborative, joint laboratory development, increasing lecturer competency
and students, preparing a curriculum that is relevant to technological developments
nuclear, as well as the formation of a nuclear technology research group in the environment
Lampung University.
Via
This collaboration, FMIPA University of Lampung is optimistic that it can provide
greater contribution to the development of science and technology
nuclear power in Indonesia, as well as supporting the realization of a research ecosystem and
innovation that is globally competitive.
