Lampung University's Undergraduate Chemistry Study Program Receives Superior Accreditation from LAMSAMA

Exciting news comes from the Chemistry Department, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), Universitas Lampung. The Undergraduate (S1) Chemistry Study Program succeeded in achieving Excellent Accreditation based on Decision Independent Accreditation Institute for Natural Sciences and Formal Sciences (LAMSAMA) Number 010/SK/LAMSAMA/UIA/S/V/2026.

This achievement is an important milestone for the Chemistry Undergraduate Study Program at the Universitas Lampung in its efforts to maintain and improve the quality of education on an ongoing basis. The Excellent predicate is the highest accreditation rating given to study programs that are deemed capable of meeting various quality standards of higher education, ranging from governance, quality of human resources, learning processes, research, community service, to graduate outcomes.

Based on the certificate issued by LAMSAMA, the Superior Accreditation status for Study Programs The Bachelor of Chemistry degree at the Universitas Lampung is valid from 22 May 2026 to 6 June 2027. This achievement is inseparable from the contribution and cooperation of the entire academic community of the Chemistry Department, FMIPA, Universitas Lampung, including lecturers, educational staff, students, alumni, graduate users, as well as support from faculty and university leaders. Dr. Mita Rilyanti, M.Sc, said that the achievement of Superior Accreditation was the result of various quality improvement efforts that had been carried out consistently over the last few years. According to him, this achievement is also a motivation to continue to strengthen the quality of education, research and community service so that it becomes more relevant to developments in science and the needs of the world of work.

Various strategic steps have been taken to support improving the quality of study programs, including the development of a curriculum based on Outcome-Based Education (OBE), implementation of the Independent Learning Campus program Merdeka (MBKM), increasing the research productivity of lecturers and students, as well as expanding cooperation with various educational institutions, research institutions and industrial partners at national and international levels.

In addition, improving laboratory facilities, strengthening student competence through academic and non-academic activities, as well as student involvement in various research activities are also supporting factors in achieving this accreditation. These efforts demonstrate the commitment of the Lampung University Chemistry Undergraduate Study Program in creating a quality learning environment that is adaptive to current developments.

Achieving Superior Accreditation is expected to further increase public confidence in the Lampung University Chemistry Undergraduate Study Program as a study program capable of producing quality, competent, innovative graduates and ready to compete at national and international levels.

In the future, the Department of Chemistry, FMIPA, Universitas Lampung is committed to continuing to carry out continuous evaluation, improvement and innovation to support the implementation of the tridharma of higher education and realize the vision of the University of Lampung as a superior and competitive higher education institution.
